The decoration, which is sponsored by the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Danang and the Danang City People's Committee, is part of activities organised to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Japan-Vietnam diplomatic relations.
The 500-square-metre lighting arrangement and performances were designed under three themes featuring Japanese cherry and Vietnamese lotus flowers.
Consul General of Japan in Danang Yakabe Yoshinori said the activity celebrated 50 years of relations between the two countries.
The performances have attracted thousands of visitors who said they were thrilled by the lights.
The lights are on from 6.30 pm to 10 pm every day until July 23.
