According to the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, this will be the first of its kind to be organised in the locality. The race will see the participation of drivers from South Korea, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Australia besides the host Vietnam.
Drivers include Nguyen Thanh Hai, head of the organising board of the Petrolimex KOK- Knock out the King Tournament; Vu Do Hieu, champion of the Road Fighting Championship, and Lee Johun, champion of Offroad Cup Hanoi.
"The tournament will be organised around Thac Vang Lake in Krong Na Commune," the committee said. "This place has rugged terrain which is suitable for such events. It’s also known for its beautiful natural landscapes. The tracks have been designed by experts from Australia and Malaysia."
Chairman of the Buon Don District People's Committee, Pham Trung Nghia said the area’s difficult terrain was a benefit in such races.
"We hope that the contest will be successful and become a regular event here," the official said. "We'll try to take advantage of this event to promote tourism in Buon Don as well as Dak Lak."
