The province recorded 502 forestry violations in the first seven months of 2026, most involving illegal forest clearing for farmland. The problem remained concentrated in areas including Krong Bong, Ea Kar and Buon Don.
The province has instructed forest rangers, police, local authorities and forest owners to step up patrols and enforcement in high-risk areas, particularly along the borders with Gia Lai, Lam Dong and Khanh Hoa provinces, while strengthening forest and land-use monitoring.
Police have also been ordered to step up action against illegal timber trading and transport, while commune authorities must conduct regular patrols and at least one monthly enforcement campaign in forest loss hotspots.
Dak Lak currently has more than 743,000 hectares of forest, including about 531,000 hectares of natural forest, with forest cover exceeding 41 per cent.
