Cisco and the People’s Committee of Da Nang collaborate to achieve sustainable urban growth through technology and innovation.
Cisco and the People’s Committee of Da Nang announced on April 22 the next stage in their collaboration to explore how Cisco technologies can transform Da Nang City into an economically viable community over a networked environment.
The MoU will explore collaborations using innovative solutions that use the network to connect, engage, and empower people while accelerating economic growth and strengthening social well-being.
The MoU originally signed in 2007 identified opportunities where Cisco technology and expertise could optimise Da Nang as the leading government administration in Vietnam for ICT application.
Pham Kim Son, Director of Da Nang Department Information and Communication Department said, “An Economically and Ecologically Sustainable City is a new initiative of World Bank. The purpose of this project is to help developing countries’ cities not only develop a stable economy but also eco-system. We believe that Danang can participate in the World Bank sponsored program with the support and cooperation as well experience sharing of multinational ICT vendors, such as Cisco Systems. It would help us to build a better and harmonised Danang City as our objectives.”
