All 34 passengers and the driver immediately evacuated the vehicle and were not injured. They were later transferred to another coach to continue their journey home for the Lunar New Year, or Tet holiday.

The fire spread quickly and left the vehicle reduced to a charred frame. Initial damage was estimated at VND 3 billion (about USD 117,647).
