Among the delegates were Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Chile to Vietnam, Fernado Urrutia; Dr. Tran Ngoc Tang – President of Red Cross Vietnam; representatives from the Foreign Affairs Ministry, the International Red Cross, and the Red Crescent Movement in Vietnam.

Late in September this year, floods claimed lives and caused severe material losses for residents of the Mekong Delta and central Vietnam.

Following the natural disasters, Vietnam’s Government and Red Cross Vietnam implemented emergency rescue schemes, helping sufferers repair the damage and rebuild their lives.

During the speech at the ceremony, Red Cross Vietnam President Tran Ngoc Tang, on behalf of all the aid recipients in the Mekong Delta, thanked the Chilean Government, and all of the people who had showed their support.

To date, Red Cross Vietnam has received donations from many countries, governments, and businesses, as well as the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, totaling $2.3 million.
