Many central localities face flooding

The National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control has urged localities from Quang Binh to Phu Yen and concerned ministries and agencies to take measures to respond to the situation.

The rain has resulted in flooding in Thua Thien-Hue, Danang, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai. Flash floods and landslides have been forecasted to hit many mountainous and low-lying areas.

Cities and provinces need to have measures to evacuate people in vulnerable areas. It is also necessary to arrange personnel in flooded areas to help people and closely supervise local hydropower reservoirs.
