Around 13,000 businesses were set up in January with a total registered capital of VND192.3 trillion (USD8.3 billion), up 28.9% on-year.
According to the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the average registration of each new enterprise in January was estimated at around VND14.8 billion, up 5.8% on-year.
In the month, nearly 19,100 enterprises resumed operations after months of closure, up 353% over the previous month, the General Statistics Office reported.
One of the factors to boost the resumption of businesses was the government’s newly-issued stimulus package.
In contrast, around 36,000 businesses suspended their operations in January.
