Adjusted planning for Dung Quat Economic Zone to develop until 2025

The Prime Minister on January 20 approved adjustments to the master plan for the development of Dung Quat Economic Zone in the central province of Quang Ngai.

The Prime Minister on January 20 approved adjustments to the master plan for the development of Dung Quat Economic Zone in the central province of Quang Ngai.

Accordingly, by 2025, the zone will become a large complex of petrochemical, refinery and heavy industries to accommodate around 482,000 people, including 310,000 in urban areas.

Dung Quat Economic Zone will also become an open industrial city and a national petro-chemical centre and an urban industrial and port service centre of the central key economic region.

In the future, the zone will expand industrial parks to the south and southeast in association with Dung Quat Port No 2.

The transport system in the zone will be upgraded with Da Nang-Quang Ngai highway, a railway station, and a string of warehouses covering 50 hectares. Chu Lai airport will be the aviation gateway to the economic zone.
