Authorities in HCM City have found the three-year-old boy who was abused by his 15-year-old uncle and sent him to a social support centre.

On November 4, Trinh Nguyen Thanh Duc and his uncle, Trinh Dac Hoa, were discovered by DTiNews reporters under Ong Lanh Bridge in District 4 where they were begging for money. They were quickly brought to the headquarters of Tan Hung Ward People's Committee. Afterwards, the deputy head of Tan Hung Ward, Luu Thi Bich Hop, the Women's Union and the police had them transferred to HCM City Social Support Centre.
According to Hoa, Duc's mother, Trinh Thi Tuyet No, had brought Duc's older brother to return to their hometown in Tan Chau District, Tay Ninh Province to sell lotto tickets.
"I want to stay at the centre, I don't want to beg for money anymore." Hoa said.
Previously, on October 30, a young man discovered a battered Duc wandering on the street, so he took the boy to police. The child later told police that his wounds were made by his uncle because he refused to go out and beg for money. Duc's mother then took her two sons from the household and fled while authorities tried to find them to assist in their investigation.
Nguyen Thi Dang, the owner of the house where Duc's mother rent said that No had taken her two sons and fled because she did not know much about law and feared that police would arrest them all.
According to No's boyfriend, Ut, he once recommended that No take the boys to a social support centre where they could pay frequent visits. "No agreed with me. But her mother had another idea and took the boys back home. They looked so much healthier at the centre." he said.
