According to the Ministry of Public Security, the country witnessed 53 traffic accidents yesterday, September 2, leaving 19 dead and 40 injured. All of them were road accidents.

Between August and September 2, police reported 14,404 traffic violations nationwide, imposing fines totalling VND30.28 billion (USD1.21 million). They seized 152 cars and 4,976 motorbikes and revoked driving licenses for 2,520 cases. Among the violations, 3,997 were related to alcohol consumption, and 13 were drug-related offences.

On Monday, tourist cities like Nha Trang, Phu Quoc and Da Lat did not see severe traffic jams despite attracting many visitors.

Meanwhile, streets in Hanoi and HCM City became less crowded than usual.
