A traffic jam on Nguyen Xien Street in Hanoi on January 2, the last day of the New Year Holiday
The figures showed an increase of 31.60 percent in the number of deaths, 45.70 percent in number of injuries, and 29.70 percent in number of accidents compared to the same period last year, the ministry said.
During the period, traffic police dealt with a total of 21,872 violations, collecting fines of over VND 37.58 billion.
Traffic jams occurred at the gateways of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on the first day (December 31, 2022) and the last day (January 2, 2023), of the holiday due to high travelling demand.
