By late Sunday afternoon, the police had also successfully freed two hostages. A third hostage managed to escape by themselves.
Earlier on Sunday morning, an unidentified group of individuals used guns to attack the police headquarters in Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur communes in Cu Kuin District, resulting in the death and injury of police officers and communal officials and civilians.

Minister of Public Security To Lam signed a decision to posthumously promote four policemen who died in the attack. The ministry also provided financial assistance to the bereaved families and those injured in the attacks.
The ministry requested that the people of Cu Kuin District and neighbouring areas stay calm and follow the instructions of local authorities and police.
