Authorities of the central city of Danang have found 24 Chinese people who entered the country illegally and quarantined them for Covid-19 prevention.
The people who arrived in Danang from July 18 are now being monitored at a hotel in Son Tra District. They have been all tested negative for Covid-19.
According to a representative from Son Tra District’s police, the Chinese entered Danang for seafood trading.
Recently, 21 Chinese people who went to the central province of Quang Nam through an unofficial route have also been placed under quarantine for Covid-19 prevention.
The Chinese people were detected at a residential area in Dien Duong Ward in Dien Ban Town. When seen, the group tried to flee. Four among them were then detained on the spot, while the others were arrested some hours later.
Vietnam has reported 396 Covid-19 cases in total, the Ministry of Health reported today, July 21.
Among those, 360 patients have fully recovered and have been discharged from hospital. Of the remaining cases, five patients have tested negative for the virus at least once.
