The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has just released a report on the punctuality of six Vietnamese airlines between January and June this year.

According to the report, local airlines operated 143,141 flights, up 43.5 percent on-year during this period. National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines conducted 54,700 flights, followed by VietJet Air with 51,483 flights, Bamboo Airways with 23,629 Pacific Airlines with 7,174 flights, VASCO with 4,118 flights and Vietravel with 2,037 flights.
The main reasons for flight delays were late return flights, poor management as well as equipment and services at the airport. Of this, the late return flights accounted for 69 percent of the delayed flights.
VietJet saw the highest delay rate with 8,645 flights, equal to 16.8 percent of their flights, followed by Vietnam Airlines with 8,222 flights (15 percent), Vasco 8.4 percent, Pacific Airlines 7.2 percent, Vietravel 5.1 percent and Bamboo Airways 3.7 percent.
Between January and June this year, Vietnamese airlines cancelled 758 flights, representing 0.5 percent of the total flights during this period.
