The incident occurred a 12.45 when the four-seater car of the airport's flight dispatching centre was parked inside the Terminal T2 according to the airport’s administrative office.
The fire quickly burst into flames for some minutes before it was extinguished, but the driver failed to escape from the car and was found dead later, the centre said.
Authorities at Noi Bai airport confirmed that the fire did not affect flight safety and operations.
Further investigations are being carried out.
This is the second fire at Noi Bai Airport's car parking area. A four-seated car also caught fire when being parked inside the Terminal T1 on May 27, 2014 but no casualty was reported.
