This achievement can be attributed to his victory at the M15 Nakhon Si Thammarat Tournament 2024 in Thailand on February 25 when Nam defeated Sander Jong of the Netherlands 2-1 in the men’s singles final, duly becoming the champion of the tournament.
The Vietnamese player earned an additional 15 bonus points, lifting his total points to 83.
Through this achievement, he will soon be back among the top 500 in the ATP rankings’ latest update as the current 500th-placed athlete has only 78 points.
This comes after Nam previously bowed out of the top 500 as he dropped 93 places to 535th due to his poor performances in five tournaments held throughout October.
However, last November the nation’s top tennis player climbed 14 places to reach 549th position thanks to his good results recorded in recent matches at the ITF World Tennis Tour M25.
