On April 3, Madam Pang, whose full name is Nualphan Lamsam, the President of the Football Association of Thailand, arrived in Hanoi to attend a friendly football match between the Vietnamese and Thai U17 women’s teams.
After completing her official engagements, Madam Pang headed to Noi Bai Airport for her return flight. There, she had dinner featuring chicken pho, a beloved specialty of Hanoi. Clearly impressed, she shared a video of the experience on her personal social media, commenting, “This dish is so delicious I want to take it home.”
In the video, she can be seen nodding enthusiastically and flashing the OK hand gesture several times while enjoying her meal. Before tucking in, she added a squeeze of lime and a generous amount of fresh chilli to her steaming bowl.
Her pronunciation of the Vietnamese words pho and Hanoi also amused and delighted many viewers.
Within just 12 hours of being posted, the video had garnered more than 1,000 comments and nearly 15,000 likes. Some fans even joked that the Thai billionaire should bring pho back to Thailand and open a restaurant.
Others expressed hopes that she would return to Hanoi soon and explore more of its famous culinary offerings. Netizens also recommended well-known chicken pho spots across the capital, such as Pho Ga Cham, Pho Ga Nguyet, Pho Ga Tien, and Pho Ga Huyen Huong.
Madam Pang, 59, is a Thai billionaire whose career spans business, philanthropy, and sports. In February 2024, she officially became President of the Football Association of Thailand, making history as the first woman ever to hold the highest position in Thai football.
