The Hang Nha Tro anchorage area, managed by the Van Don Special Zone administration, is located near Ban Sen Island along the inland waterway route from Cai Rong to Ban Sen.
The site covers more than 16.2 hectares and can accommodate around 10 tourist boats carrying up to 150 passengers at a time.

The anchorage is expected to support the development of overnight cruise tourism on Bai Tu Long Bay while improving inland waterway safety in the area.
Under the decision, local authorities and the Van Don Public Utility Services Management Board are responsible for ensuring compliance with inland waterway, environmental, fire safety and public security regulations.
The Quang Ninh Inland Waterway Port Authority will continue overseeing specialised state management activities at the anchorage.
Tour routes exploring Bai Tu Long Bay by cruise boat were officially launched in late March 2025, but tourism activities have so far remained limited due to low visitor numbers.
Currently, most tour boats only provide sightseeing and onboard dining services, as tourists are unable to access many islands, caves and forest areas due to underdeveloped tourism infrastructure.
The lack of overnight anchorage points has also prevented operators from developing overnight cruise products on the bay.
Bai Tu Long Bay and the surrounding national park area are seen as having strong tourism potential, with plans for eco-tourism activities including kayaking, water sports, coral reef viewing, cave exploration and forest trekking.
