The woman, known as Phung, sells boiled corn along the beach in Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province. Her unique approach resurfaced after a Ukrainian visitor, Natalia, shared a video of the performance online, quickly drawing widespread engagement.

Natalia said she first met the vendor nine years ago and was struck by her cheerful personality and the way she sang Russian melodies to invite customers. “Returning visitors to Nha Trang often recognise her,” she said.
In the video, Phung, dressed simply and carrying a charcoal-heated pot, walks along the shoreline greeting tourists before breaking into song. She performs excerpts from two well-known Russian songs, ending with the phrase “Davai, Davai” to encourage purchases.
Natalia said she was unsure how the vendor learned Russian but praised her strong voice and expressive delivery, which brought joy to beachgoers.
Despite the heat, the vendor walks several kilometres each day, maintaining a friendly demeanour even when customers do not buy. “She spreads positive energy to everyone,” Natalia added.
Other visitors have shared similar experiences. A Russian tourist recalled the encounter as a memorable highlight, noting that the vendor’s singing created a sense of connection and welcome.
The viral attention echoes a previous case in Nha Trang, where another street vendor gained global fame for singing the song Hello by Lionel Richie while selling fruits.
That vendor, Mai, has spent three decades selling fruit and taught herself multiple languages, including English, Russian and Chinese, through daily interactions with foreign tourists.
