Lien Khuong Airport welcomes nearly 5,000 passengers on reopening

On its first day back in operation, Lien Khuong International Airport handled 28 flights and nearly 5,000 passengers.

According to the airport, a total of 28 flights, including 14 departures and 14 arrivals, operated through Lien Khuong Airport on its reopening day on August 19, carrying nearly 5,000 passengers. On its reopening day, the airport also handled more than 33 tonnes of baggage and over 10 tonnes of cargo.

The acting leadership of Lien Khuong International Airport said the runway and taxiway systems were safe and aviation security was ensured.

Although rain affected Lam Dong Province and weather conditions were unfavourable on August 20, operations and services at Lien Khuong Airport continued smoothly.

Lien Khuong International Airport officially resumed operations on August 19 after five months of runway and taxiway upgrades and repairs.

According to Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), the airport is expected to handle between 36 and 40 flights a day during the initial phase of resumed operations, serving around 6,800 passengers daily. Passenger throughput is projected to reach approximately 816,000 travellers during the final four months of 2026.
