The festival, themed Ocean Colours-Reaching Global Heights, will take place from July 17-19, with more than 40 cultural, artistic, sporting and tourism events held across the province. Related activities will run from July 10 to Aug. 10.

The event marks the first time the festival has been renamed from Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa Sea Festival to Khanh Hoa Sea Festival after 11 editions. Beginning this year, it will be held annually instead of every two years.

Highlights include an opening ceremony featuring 3D mapping technology and fireworks, a carnival parade along Tran Phu Street and an international music concert at the closing ceremony.

The festival will also feature a bird's nest festival, an ao dai festival, food fairs, street performances, kite displays and national and international sporting events.
