According to the city’s Public Transport Management Centre, 37 new stations, developed with Tri Nam Group, will serve both bicycles and e-bikes, including 25 in the former District 1 and 12 in District 4.
The expansion follows the launch of public e-bike services on March 15, operating alongside the existing bicycle network. Authorities say the model supports the city’s broader push to promote public transport; curb private vehicle use and cut emissions.

Public bikes and e-bikes are expected to improve last-mile links to buses, metro stations and other hubs, with priority given to central areas and key interchanges.
A trial programme is being held from March 15 to March 31 at the Tax Trade Centre station on Nguyen Hue Street, where users can access a free 15-minute ride via the TNGo-HCM mobile app.
After the trial, fares are expected to be set at VND 10,000 (USD 0.38) for 15 minutes, VND 20,000 for 30 minutes, VND 35,000 for 60 minutes, VND 60,000 for 120 minutes and VND 110,000 for 240 minutes, subject to adjustment.
The city launched its public bicycle service in late 2021, and the network currently includes around 500 bicycles across 52 stations in central districts. The further expansion will be considered based on operational performance and travel demand.
