The “Dong Thap-Land of Sweet Fruits” festival will run from June 5-8, featuring Mekong-themed spaces including a floating market area and a “Mekong Delicacies” culinary zone, alongside exhibitions on key fruit value chains and local tourism.

Art performances, including water and light shows, a multimedia programme titled “Listening to the River”, fruit-sculpting contests, tributes to long-standing orchard growers, and photo exhibitions are also planned.
The event aims to boost trade and branding, with seminars on agricultural branding, a “Specialty Fruit Week” across modern retail and e-commerce platforms, and livestream sales campaigns.
Authorities expect the festival to promote local produce, strengthen value-chain linkages and support agro-tourism, while boosting domestic consumption and exports.
The venue is under consideration, with Hung Vuong Square and Lac Hong Park among the options.
Dong Thap has previously hosted a range of agricultural festivals, including those dedicated to pangasius fish, mango, lotus and mandarin oranges.
