Vietnamese football fans cheer the national team during the first leg of the ASEAN Cup 2024 finals at Viet Tri Stadium on the evening of January 2.

Vietnam beat Thailand 2–1 in the first leg of the ASEAN Cup 2024 finals held at Viet Tri Stadium on the evening of January 2.

The second leg is slated for 8 pm on January 5 at Rajamangala Stadium in capital Bangkok.

Right after the Vietnamese football team won a ticket to the final game with their Thai rivals, many local football fans have started looking for tickets for the second leg in Thailand.

Nguyen Hoang Ha, 42, in Hanoi shared that he and some friends had bought air tickets to Thailand and tickets for the match right after the team's winning in the semi-final match with Singapore ended on December 30.

Ha said that people can buy tickets for the flight and match separately or they can buy package tours launched by some local travel agencies.

Vietravel has launched three- or four-day tours priced from VND13.99 million that include a return flight ticket, a ticket to the match, transportation and sightseeing fees in Thailand.

Fans are also provided with clothing, flags, and banners to support the Vietnamese team.

Deputy director of Vietravel, Pham Van Bay, said that they have received bookings from over 1,000 customers for this tour who departed from Hanoi and HCM City.

"Besides supporting the Vietnamese football team, customers will also be taken to visit some famous tourist sites in Thailand including Jomtien beach, the floating market, Wat Arun Pagoda, and Wat Yanawa Pagoda, among others.

Bay added that the number of customers are expected to rise sharply after Vietnam won in the first leg of the match on the evening of January 2.

Head of PR và Marketing Department at Flamingo Redtours, Vu Thi Bich Hue, said that they are receiving more orders for flight tickets than package tours.

"As travelling to Thailand is short and easy with many flights, people tend to only book ticket flights and return home right after the match," she said.
