Hoi An City- Exhibition of Japanese dolls, Ukiyo-e Arts

Exhibitions of Japanese dolls and Ukiyo-e Arts (Japanese woodblock prints and paintings from the 17th through 19th centuries).
A 29-doll collection will be on display at the Japanese Culture Centre at 6 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai street from 5pm on July 26, while a 'Dialogue with Ukiyo-e Arts' event will be open, free admission, at 39 Nguyen Thai Hoc street on the same day.
Japanese dolls reflect Japanese cultural practices, aspirations and beliefs accumulated over centuries, while Vietnamese artists will create Ukiyo-e Arts, with Vietnamese traditional material of Do, or poonah paper, silk and lacquer.
Visitors can also experience Japanese tea making,origami (paper folding) and traditional Japanese exhibits at the centre.

Hai Phong in the 2000s had mostly stayed the same compared to Hanoi at the time. I thought that if film crews needed a setting for the old, poor Hanoi of the subsidy era, with its quiet, deserted, moss-covered streets, makeshift markets at the alley entrances, and old industrial areas related to ferries and ports, they could find all the necessary material in Hai Phong.
Hanoi Studio Gallery proudly presents “Mai Duy Minh – The Collection”. The artworks introduced in this event come from the author’s collection and collectors, along with some sketches and drawings introduced to art lovers, for the first time.

Shireen Naziree is an independent curator and an influential art researcher in Southeast Asia. She has many decades of association with Southeast Asian painting, tirelessly working for the development and international integration of art in this region, especially in the 90s of the 20th century and the early 21st century, until her sudden death in 2018.
Out of nostalgia for Shireen, the idea of an exhibition gathering artists who worked with Shireen was planned not long after her passing. Having gone through many difficulties, especially the long period of the epidemic, the Shireen Naziree Memorial Exhibition was officially launched today.
The exhibition displays more than 40 paintings by 20 famous artists from Thailand, Myanmar, and Vietnam: Santi Thongsuk, U Lun Gywe, Jirapat Tatsanasomboon, Aung Kyaw Htet, Le Quang Ha, Duong Thuy Duong, Nguyen Quang Huy, Nguyen Trung, Pham An Hai, Dinh Quan, Thanh Chuong, Trinh Tuan, Cong Kim Hoa, Pham Luan, Dao Hai Phong, Van Duong Thanh, Nguyen Thi Chau Giang, Dinh Y Nhi, Ha Tri Hieu, Hong Viet Dung, Dang Xuan Hoa, Pham Luan.

Hanoi-Photo exhibition brings Peru closer to Vietnam

A photo exhibition titled “Discovering Peru: A visual journey from coasts to highlands and rainforests”.
Featuring 29 photographs which help visitors to explore the majestic natural landscapes and the rich flora and fauna of Peru.
Photos on world natural heritage sites such as Huascarán National Park, Manu National Park, the Titicaca National Reserve, and the 15th-century Inca citadel Machu Picchu will bring the South American country even closer to Vietnamese people.

There is an exhibition of historical relics and items from the Central Highlands, including traditional farming tools, musical instruments, jewellery, and objects used in rituals.

Nadege David’s solo exhibition, We Ate The Forest, borrows its title from the 1957 book Nous avons mangé la forêt (We have eaten the forest), which refers to the agricultural practices of Vietnam’s indigenous Mnong people and written by the late anthropologist Georges Condominas. David’s new paintings, situated in our current era of the Anthropocene, thrust us into dense, saturated forests filled with myths and tales that unfold in a world populated with animals and vegetation pulsating with vitality and energy.

Pleiku City, Gia Lai Province- Outdoor display of antique artifacts

An outdoor exhibition entitled “Tay Nguyen – Gia Lai Paradise” displaying antique artifacts of local ethnic people.
Highlights of the exhibition are a white elephant bone chair dating back 700 years and a collection of elephant hunting tools dating back more than 100 years of the M'Nong ethnic group.
On display are thousands of antique artifacts of collector Dang Minh Tam, including musical instruments, hunting and weaving tools, ceremonial objects, jewelry items and other items in the life of ethnic groups in the five Central Highlands provinces.
