Vietnam voted among Top 10 best national costumes at Miss Grand International

The costume created by designer Nguyen Le Vinh Tuong features the main red colour on an Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditional long dress) bearing an image of a dragon. It represents the national pride and solidarity of Vietnamese people, while also showcasing an image of resilient Vietnamese women.

At local and international forums on beauty pageants, the national costume performance put on by the Vietnamese representative received plenty of positive feedback from the fan community.

The organisers of Miss Grand International 2023 recently announced the Top 20 of the best national costume sub-contest, including the Top 10 by judges and Top 10 for votes among fans on social media.

In the semi-final night held on October 22 in Ho Chi Minh City, Le Hoang Phuong was named among the Top 10 of the Best in the Swimsuit segment.

At present she is among the leading group in the Popular Vote segment launched on the fan page of MGI and she now has the chance to go straight into the Top 10 finalists.

Phuong stands at 1.76 metres tall with body measurement of 88-63-99. The model is also an architect and has previous experience in beauty pageants having clinched a Top 5 finish at Miss Universe Vietnam 2022.

A total of 69 contestants from across the world arrived in Vietnam on October 3, and they have since participated in an array of activities in Hanoi, Ha Long, Hue, Hoi An, and Da Nang.

The grand finale of MGI 2023 is scheduled to take place at the Phu Tho Indoor Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City on October 25. Reigning beauty queen Isabella Menin from Brazil will hand over the crown to her successor.

The annual Miss Grand International pageant was originally founded in 2013 by Nawat Itsaragrisil, a Thai television host and producer.

The contest was first held in Vietnam in 2017 and has greatly contributed to promoting the country’s culture and tourism through tours nationwide. Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien became the first Vietnamese representative crowned Miss Grand International in 2021.
