The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is strongly
committed to help financially and technically the Vietnam Red Cross in
its tasks related to reestablishment of family links, said Cherine
Pollini, head of ICRC Vietnam.
“In Vietnam like in a number of other countries in the world, families
have been separated due to conflicts, violence, migration or natural
disasters that struck their countries. For days, months, years even,
families wait to receive news of their relatives from whom they were
separated,” she said.
The Vietnam Red Cross Society is the Red Cross Movement partner that is
in contact with families seeking support, Cherine said at a meeting held
in HCM City on November 24 to celebrate 30 years of the Reestablishment
of Family Links programme in HCM City.
