Rubbish blankets Danang beaches after storm
Beaches in the central city of Danang have been covered by rubbish following Storm Soulik.
This morning, September 20, around 100 environment workers were mobilised to clean beaches in Danang.
The waste mostly includes water hyacinth, plastic bags, used bottles, fishing nets and dry wood.
Syringes, pieces of wood and rusty nails were also found in the litter.
The litter along Nguyen Tat Thanh Street mainly comes from the Han River, while the waste on beaches in Son Tra District usually drifts from the neighbouring province of Quang Nam.
Workers also cleared rubbish on a beach along Vo Nguyen Giap Street in Son Tra District this morning.
The Han River is coated by water hyacinth.
Danang has faced torrential rain over the past two days because of the impact of Storm Soulik.
