The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has decided to close Dong Hoi Airport in the central province of Quang Binh between 3 pm and 10 pm on September 19 due to bad weather caused by a coming storm.

Heavy rain and strong wind hit Ha Tinh Province on September 19.

CAAV has also asked the Airports Corporation of Vietnam to instruct all airports in the central regions, including Dong Hoi, Danang, Phu Bai, Chu Lai, and Vinh, which may be affected by the storm, to check their infrastructure and deal with rising problems.

According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorology, the tropical depression is gaining strength and will become a storm on September 19. It will cause heavy rainfall from September 18 to 20 across the north and central regions, with rainfall totals ranging from 100 to 300 mm and exceeding 500 mm in some places.

By 7 am on Thursday, the typhoon was moving southwest at about 20 km per hour, located approximately 210 km southeast of Quang Trị Province and 120 km east of Danang City.
