The FIFA Referees' Committee has issued a list of 76 referees. Dung is the only Vietnamese referee in the list. 76 candidates will be trained and 38 will be selected to work at the FIFA Futsal World Cup which will be held in Lithuania from September 12 to October 3.
Due to Covid-19, Futsal World Cup 2020 was delayed into 2021.
FIFA Referees Committee Chairman Pierluigi Collina leads the training course online.
"It's an honour to have this chance to work with FIFA and Collina. We will be updated about the new rules soon and be ready to referee," Dung said.
Dung was recognised as a FIFA-level referee in 2009 and invited to referee many matches by the AFC.
Dung also refereed the Futsal World Cup in Colombia in 2016. This is also the first time the Vietnam team was able to earn a place at the Futsal World Cup.
