The contest will run place until July 10. This is part of the largest-scale yoga programme ever organised by Dantri/DTiNews.
The highlight of the event will be a yoga performance with 5,000 participants at 5:30-8:30 am on August 12. The scale of the event could see it achieve a Vietnamese Guinness Record.
Sharing their photos with Dantri/DTiNews, all participants said that thanks to yoga, their lives have changed. Contestants recounted their journey to yoga, recorded moments and beautiful postures with yoga that positively inspire the community.
A participant, Nguyen Thu Huyen said that she started practising yoga eight years ago, when she suffered from lumbar osteophytes and hip arthritis leading to difficulty in walking, especially when climbing stairs. While cervical spondylosis caused numbness in her hands and feet, dark skin on her face and weight gain.
Doctors advised her to practice yoga. After six months, the pain has subsided and she feels healthy.
“Everybody praises my body and asks for my secret,” she said.
In 2016, she became a yoga instructor, inspiring yoga to the community and helping people to be healthier and more beautiful every day.

“If dawn is a sign of the beginning of a new day, the day I started practising yoga was my new journey to improve my health and discover myself,” she said. "Yoga is like the sun that illuminates my mind. Yoga connects the breath with the body that helps connect with the inner world and control the mind."
Sharing the same experience with Huyen, Doan Huong said that yoga helped her balance her life.
"There are hundreds of things outside that surround you," Huong said. "Loss of temper, anxiety, confusion is the feeling many people feel when they don't know where to start. By practicing yoga, I can control my emotions, know how to rearrange everything and live a more balanced life."
Huong stressed that yoga has countless benefits regardless of gender and age.
"Yoga is for everyone," she added. "After all, the goal of practicing yoga is to return to your inner world. Bringing peace to the mind."

Another participant, Nguyen Phuoc Hien said “Each of us has a different home, a different job and their own life pressure. Yoga helps to connect us with the same lifestyle and the same passion. Every day is a great time to practice yoga.”

For Khanh Linh, yoga is the connection from body, mind to soul, keeping her mind calm and positive. Every day is full of hope.

The contest has also attracted many men, middle-aged and elderly people to share their stories from knowing about yoga and the journey to practice and achieve better physical and mental health.
At the age of 40, Nguyen Thi Huyen suffers from shoulder pain and bone degeneration, specific diseases of office workers. Learning about yoga through the advice of many people, she found it to be a pastime that is both gentle and strong.
"Yoga helps to raise awareness, create balance between body and mind, and increase endurance," Huyen said. “I also promise myself not to stay up too late, not to stress at work and need to take care of myself, relax and stay positive to enjoy my life.”
Thanks to regular practice every day, she said, for nearly half a year now, she has relaxed her mind, improved memory, reduced stress and slept better. Her shoulder pain and headache has been reduced.
“With good health, we love life and can do anything. I have persevered and done it, so I believe everyone can do it like me. Wake up and exercise,” she reminded.
The contest is still receiving a positive response from the public. The organisers will award one first prize, two second prizes, three third prizes and four consolation prizes, with a total prize value of up to VND40 million.
In addition to the enthusiastic response to the photo contest, many readers also expect to join in the Yoga festival at 5:30 am on August 12 to participate in the Vietnamese record performance.
