The project, to be located on Vo Thi Sau Street in Bach Mai Ward, will cover around 9,000 square metres and form part of a broader cultural development strategy to 2030.

Officials said the city currently operates six theatres, many built about two decades ago and no longer meeting technical standards or growing demand for high-quality cultural and entertainment activities.
The new venue is expected to provide a modern performance space, contribute to cultural preservation and serve as an architectural landmark, enhancing Hanoi’s profile as an international cultural and tourism destination.
The plan is part of a wider programme involving more than 1,000 cultural projects through 2030, including heritage restoration and the development of new cultural and sports infrastructure.
