The Hanoi International Film Festival opened onTuesday, attracting the participation of more than 1,000 local and foreign artists and film-makers.

The five-day festival will feature 146 films from 43 countries and territories, including Australia, France, India, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Sri Lanka, the UK and the US.

Vietnam will showcase I See Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass and Jackpot and 10 short films.
The festival’s jury members are international and domestic artists, stars and experienced cinematographers.

According to Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vuong Duy Bien, the festival is an occasion for Vietnamese and foreign film-makers to exchange experiences and a chance for Vietnam to promote the image of Hanoi.
