Dantri Newspaper held the awards ceremony for the 2026 ‘Spring Colours’ photo contest at its headquarters at 2 Giang Vo Street in Hanoi on April 2. This marks the fifth consecutive year the newspaper has launched the competition during the lunar New Year, attracting millions of readers as well as photographers and reporters nationwide.

The first prize was awarded to “Spring arrives on the northern frontline island” by Nguyen Quoc Viet from Tuyen Quang Province.



In his description, the author depicts the remote northern islands where, as spring winds brush the cliffs, officers and soldiers on Bach Long Vi Island quietly maintain their role as “steel fortresses” amid the sea and sky. For them, the lunar New Year is not only a time of reunion but also a period of heightened vigilance.

Second prize went to “Dong Ky firecracker procession festival” by Do Quang Can.

Another second prize was presented to “Spring, oh spring has arrived...” by Phan Trung Son.

“Spring hues in the wind” by Pham Manh Tuan won third prize.


“Village wrestling ground” by Nguyen Ngoc Luan was also given third prize. The wrestling-themed work highlights traditional festivals in Hue, where village wrestling during the lunar new year reflects martial spirit, pride and collective memory.

“Success with galloping horses” by Do Ngoc Danh also won a third prize.

Five consolation prizes were also presented. Among them were “Crossing monkey bridges to gather early spring blessings at Kim Lan pottery village festival” by Tran Cong Dat.

“Ben Thanh market, a spring check-in spot” by Cao Thi Thanh Ha also won a consolation prize.

Another consolation prize went to “Mother’s small spring branch” by Nguyen Van Cuong

And “Spring among countless flowers” by Ha Tuan Phat.

And “Spinning tops in spring” by Dang Thi Phuong Lan.
