A young girl in the Central Highlands of Lam Dong is calling for financial support to help treat her ill parents.
Vu Thi Kim Phuong, 16 years old in Di Linh District, is now the pillar in her family as she has to take care of her sick parents and younger brother.Every day, after school, she works for a local coffee processing workshop to earn money to support the family.

A stroke two years ago has caused her mother mental problems. Every day, she only stays in bed and all her daily activities depend on Phuong's support. Despite being taken to many hospitals, her mother's condition has not yet improved.Meanwhile, her father has been living with cirrhosis of liver for 15 years, so, he has almost entirely homebound as well.
The family's daily meals are mainly vegetables, salt and rice porridge. Their only asset is an old TV given by a relative. Phuong also raises chickens and sometimes sells one to buy other food for her family.
Despite the family difficulties, Phuong has been recognised as a good student.
Phuong's dream is to help local farmers improve their cultivation techniques.
Nguyen Tan Thong, Deputy Chairman of Tan Thuong Commune, said that many local residents have donated money to help Phuong's family, but the support is limited. He hoped that more donors can help.
