Vietnamese airlines urged to increase flights to three European countries

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has asked Vietnamese airlines to operate more flights to Poland, the Czech Republic and Switzerland.

The move aligns with a new government resolution on visa exemptions for visitors from Poland, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland under the Tourism Development Stimulus Programme.

According to the CAAV, airlines should consider opening direct flights between Vietnam, Poland, the Czech Republic and Switzerland.

Foreign tourists enjoy experiencing Vietnam’s traditional Lunar New Year holiday

Airlines are urged to collaborate with the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism on promotion programmes and launching package tours to attract visitors from the three European countries.

If the conditions for opening regular routes have not yet been met, airlines must first assess the feasibility of operating charter flights to Poland, the Czech Republic and Switzerland.

The Vietnamese tourism sector has set a goal to serve 22-23 million foreign visitors and 120-130 million domestic visitors this year.

On January 15, the government issued a resolution on visa exemptions for Poland, the Czech Republic and Switzerland. Citizens from these nations will be granted visa-free entry for a stay of up to 45 days for tourism purposes. The programme applies to those travelling under itineraries organised by Vietnamese international tour operators, regardless of passport type.
