Among the prominent Vietnamese participants were major corporations such as Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN), Vietnam Maritime Corporation (VIMC), Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV), Vietnam Rubber Group (VRG), PV Gas, and FPT Group, all of which are keen to explore deeper ties with US partners.
During their stay, the Vietnamese delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Finance Cao Anh Tuan, attended two plenary sessions.
At the first plenary session, Vietnamese businesses held direct discussions with representatives of US states to gain greater insights into why the US remains a top destination for global investors, highlighting its advantages such as its business environment, skilled workforce, technological innovation, state-local partnerships, and investment factors.
The second plenary session featured speeches from US state governors and discussions on America’s technological competitiveness, especially in the context of AI deployment and emerging technologies. Panelists highlighted how innovation is driving foreign investment, enhancing US competitiveness, and contributing to national security, to affirm that the US is one of the most promising global investment destinations.
In response to media on the sidelines of the summit, Deputy Minister Tuan asserted that Vietnam’s engagement in the summit alongside sidelines meetings underscores the country’s steadfast commitment to fostering bilateral investment and trade links with the US, which is a comprehensive strategic partner and the world's leading economy.
“This summit offers valuable opportunities for Vietnamese businesses to explore partnerships, especially in fields like technology, digital transformation, energy, port and aviation infrastructure, and manufacturing – the sectors where the US holds significant advantages for collaboration with Vietnam,” he noted.
The Deputy Minister stated that attending the SelectUSA Investment Summit not only helps Vietnamese businesses to identify investment opportunities, but also serves to strengthen investment cooperation between Vietnamese and US companies, thereby deepening mutual understanding and contributing to a more robust Vietnam-U.S. comprehensive strategic partnership.
Between the two plenary sessions, a "Meet & Greet" event was held for Vietnamese businesses, chaired by Ashok Pinto, executive director of the SelectUSA Investment Summit 2025.
At this event, Pinto conveyed thanks from President Donald Trump and Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick to the Vietnamese business community for choosing the US as an investment destination.
He therefore encouraged Vietnamese businesses to contact the US trade mission in Vietnam for assistance in exploring the US market, emphasising the US government's desire for a sustainable and fair trade relationship between the two countries.
