Under a decision signed by the Minister of Construction, Tran Hong Minh, the Thang Long project management unit will be responsible for the feasibility study of the Haiphong-Ha Long-Mong Cai railway project.
PMU 2 has been assigned to study the Hanoi–Dong Dang railway project, while PMU 85 will handle the feasibility study for the Vung Ang–Mu Gia railway line.
Meanwhile, the My Thuan project management unit, PMU 6, and the Ho Chi Minh Road project management unit will prepare the pre-feasibility study reports for the Hanoi-Dong Dang, Vung Ang-Mu Gia, and Ho Chi Minh City-Can Tho railway projects, respectively.
The general directors of the project management units will take full responsibility for the projects’ quality, schedule, and costs.
Under the 2021-2030 railway network plan, which includes a vision to 2050, nine new lines totalling 2,362 kilometres will be added to the existing seven lines, which cover about 2,440 kilometres.
