The Kitchen Gods’ Day, or the 23rd day of the 12th lunar month, fell on Wednesday, January 22, this year.
On Wednesday, along the Dao River in Nam Dinh City, several temporary bridges were set up for carp release. The fee was VND10,000 each time.
However, some other services allowed people to pay any fees they wish voluntarily.
A man in Nam Dinh City shared that he set up a bamboo bridge along the riverbank on January 20. However, it wasn't until Wednesday morning and midday that more people came to release the fish. They were instructed to neatly dispose of plastic bags, ensuring they weren’t thrown into the river to protect the environment.
For elderly individuals or those in a hurry, he assisted them to release the fish. In the afternoon, once the fish release was complete, he dismantled the bridge and cleaned up any plastic bags or nearby trash.
According to Nguyen Thanh Nhu from Nam Dinh City, she chose the carp release service to ensure the fish wouldn't get caught in the debris along the shore. The service fee ranged from VND5,000 to 10,000. She and many others were pleased with the service.
The service attracted may customers.
