The Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee sent the proposal on Tuesday to the Ministry of Transport, saying that flying taxis may be an ideal means of transportation for visitors to admire the area's natural landscapes.
"Flying taxis are more environmentally friendly, more convenient, and can offer a unique experience for travellers to Binh Dinh," the committee said. "These criteria are the basis of our sustainable development strategies. So we want the ministry to permit us to pilot this model better to develop our tourism industry in the coming time."
According to a report from the Binh Dinh Department of Tourism, Binh Dinh Province received more than eight million visitors and a total revenue of over VND22.7 trillion in the first nine months of this year, up nearly 88 percent in terms of the number of visitors and up 57 percent in terms of revenue over the previous year.
The department said that the province had successfully organised many major national and international events during the period that contributed to promoting the image of Binh Dinh tourism, such as Amazing Binh Dinh Fest 2024, VnExpress Marathon Quy Nhon 2024, and the Tourism, and Cinema and Sports - Proud of Vietnamese Identity programme, among others.
"We'll focus on improving service quality and developing new and unique tourism products in the coming time," the department said.
