Silicon Saigon Park JSC began construction of a research and development centre, as part of the ambitious Saigon Silicon City project.
The centre is located on a 11,000 square-metre site and has an investment of VND480 billion (USD21.5 million).

It is aimed to serve technological research and development, connect overseas Vietnamese high-tech firms and support industries and international groups specialising in the research and application of technological transfer.
Construction of the USD40-million Saigon Silicon City project started in November 2015. The project located at Saigon Hi-tech Park is expected to attract 24 companies who would invest a total USD1.5 billion here by 2020 when it will have fully occupied.
The project will also include a golf course, tennis courts, park and many entertainment facilities. HCM City authorities hope Saigon Silicon City can lure many hi-tech companies, and develop the southern metropolis into science-technology hub.
