According to HCM City Department of Transport Director Tran Qang Lam, the 3.4-kilometres-long bridge is listed among the city’s public investments in the 2021-2025 period. Local authorities are considering a public-private partnership (PPP) for the project implementation.

The design of Can Gio Bridge
The bridge design has been approved and the construction is expected to be kicked off on April 30, 2025.
Lam added that the Transport Department has finished the project’s feasibility study.
The project has 4-6 lanes to connect Can Gio District with the city centre and neighbouring areas.
The bridge will replace the current Binh Khanh ferry route.
