“All are professional barbers with at least three years of experience.”
Viet, who learned barbering during his service in the army, decided to set up the team after meeting his old friends, Nguyen Trong Nhan and Nguyen Thanh Dau, who are both professional hairdressers in the commune.
“We just wanted to encourage local youths to participate in social work,” he said.
Twice a month, they make a trip to remote areas to give haircuts to 400 - 500 students and poor people. The group also sends its members to houses of the elderly and the handicapped to give them haircuts.
Moreover, the students receive books and pens as presents from this volunteer group.
