Vietnam has five on Forbes’ global billionaire list

Vietnam currently has only five billionaires on Forbes’ global billionaire list, according to the US magazine.

The five wealthiest billionaires are Vingroup Chairman Pham Nhat Vuong, Vietjet Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, Hoa Phat Chairman Tran Dinh Long, Techcombank Chairman Ho Hung Anh and Masan Chairman Nguyen Dang Quang.

Vuong is the owner of the largest assets among the five Vietnamese billionaires, with estimated assets of US$6.5 billion, up US$2.1 billion compared to last year. This is the 13th year he has been on this list.

The updated list saw Vuong secure 396th spot in the global billionaire rankings, marking a remarkable rise from 495th position back on March 10 and making him to enter the world's top 400 wealthiest people

Vietjet Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao's assets remain unchanged at US$2.8 billion. She is currently Vice Chairwoman of both HDBank and VietJet Air.

Hoa Phat Group Chairman Tran Dinh Long has estimated wealth of US$2.4 billion, down US$0.2 billion from last year. He currently ranked 1,513th on the global billionaire list.

Techcombank Chairman Ho Hung Anh is on this list for the seventh time with his assets reaching US$2 billion.

Meanwhile, Masan Chairman Nguyen Dang Quang has also appeared on the list for the 5th consecutive year with his estimated assets of US$1 billion

Thaco Chairman Tran Ba Duong left the Forbes’ list.
