Vietnam Brewery opens new bottling line at its Danang brewery

Vietnam Brewery has commissioned a new bottling line at its brewery in Danang to meet robust and surging beer demand.

Vietnam Brewery has commissioned a new bottling line at its brewery in Danang to meet robust and surging beer demand.

Singapore-listed Asia Pacific Breweries (APB) holds a 60 percent stake in Vietnam Brewery.

The new packaging facility in Vietnam was unveiled by Minister of Trade and Industry Mr Lim Hng Kiang on Friday.

Mr Lim said that this is "testament to the strong and thriving business linkages between Singaporean and Vietnamese companies".

He also added that "it reflects the confidence of Singapore\'s private sector in Vietnam\'s long-term economic prospects".

APB said the new packaging line offers greater speed and efficiency.

It produces 50,000 bottles of beer every hour, effectively doubling its previous bottling capacity.

According to APB, the investment is part of a multiphase programme which will double the brewery\'s capacity in the next few years.

This phase also include investments in a warehouse, fermentation tanks and a new brewhouse.

The company said expansion work will be completed next year and the investment underlines its commitment to the Vietnamese beer market.

The brewery in Danang is one of five breweries that APB owns in Vietnam.

APB added that the Indochina region has been a consistent star performer for its business.

In the first six months ended March, the region generated a revenue of S$503 million and reported a profit before tax of S$130 million.
