Vietnamese top player Nguyen Tien Minh on August 4 outperformed New Zealand’s Joe Wu in just 27 minutes, earning a ticket to the second round of the World Badminton Championships 2013, which is taking place in Guangzhou, China.

In the coming round, the Vietnamese representative will compete against German player Dieter Domke (world No.60).
The ongoing competition in China drew the world’s most outstanding players, such as Lee Chong Wei from Malaysia, and Long Chen and Lin Dan from China.
Earlier at the 2013 US Open Grand Prix Gold, Tien Minh claimed an overwhelming victory after thrashing Calvin Lin from the host country within 21 minutes. He also defeated Wong Wing Ki (world No.12) from Hong Kong at the event.
