This was the first time Vietnamese could buy an iPhone the same month it was released.
Although some Apple Authorised Resellers in Vietnam including FPT Shop, TopZone, Minh Tuan Mobile, Di Dong Viet and Viettel Store announced that would open early Friday morning to sell the phones, long queues were seen at their stores in Hanoi, Danang and HCM City from as early as 9 pm on Thursday.
Those first customers had placed preorders since September 22. Apple Store Online buyers can only preorder a maximum of two per model.
FPT Shop and F.Studio by FPT started selling iPhone 15s to their customers at stores in Hanoi, Danang, and HCM City from midnight on September 28. They received over 30,000 preorders and delivered over 5,000 by 2 am on September 29.
According to FPT Shop, customers who preordered and came to take the phone early would be offered a discount of VND3 million and other promotions.
FPT Shop expected sales to exceed the previous model by 20 percent.
A customer, Bui Dang Huy Duc in Tan Binh District, HCM City came to buy two iPhone 15 Pro Max 256GBs at the F.Studio by FPT. Huy said that he was very eager to have the new mobile and was among the first customers to receive them.
At TopZone shop in District 4, HCM City, hundreds of customers waited several hours to receive the phone. TopZone received over 25,000 preorders for the iPhone 15 Series and by early Friday morning, the shop had sold over 5,000 phones to customers at their 212 stores nationwide.
