Quang Ngai reports seven earthquakes on October 13.

According to the Earthquake and Tsunami Warning Centre under the Institute of Geophysics, the quakes occurred between 1.12 am and 3.30 am on October 13. The strongest earthquake, a magnitude-4.2, struck Mang But Commune at 1.57 am, violently shaking the entire epicentral area.

A magnitude-4.9 earthquake struck Mang Ri Commune earlier, on October 6, causing strong tremors that were clearly felt by residents in Danang City and Gia Lai Province in the early morning hours.

The strong earthquakes have severely affected the lives of residents and damaged infrastructure in the epicentral communes of Quang Ngai Province.

According to a Mang But Commune official, a proposal has been submitted to the provincial people’s committee for additional funding to repair earthquake-damaged structures.

The locality also urged concerned authorities to investigate and assess the causes, severity, and potential impacts of the earthquakes, enabling the government and residents to respond proactively and prevent unnecessary public concern.
