According to the Central Hydro-meteorological Forecast Centre, all three regions in the country are currently seeing widespread hot weather. While it is normal in the southern region, the hot weather seems to arrive earlier in the northern and central regions this year.

On March 22, some northern provinces including Lai Chau, Son La, and Hoa Binh recorded temperatures of between 35-37 degrees Celsius, the highest recorded this year as the heat envelops northern regions.

The heat wave, which is caused by the impact of a powerful low-pressure area, will continue to spread in the northern and northern central regions today, March 23, with temperatures rising up to 39-40 degrees Celsius in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh provinces, before easing from March 24.

As the cold spell arrives on March 25, the northern region may see hail and whirlwinds, with temperatures falling to between 21-27 degrees Celsius.
